About
The Science Summit is convened by ISC Intelligence in Science, based in Brussels, Belgium and Valencia, Spain. ISC works with partner organisations to create an enabling environment for science collaboration.Increasing alignment between United Nations level and EU level approaches to solving global problems is evident: this is also happening between and amongst nations.
Science Summit has started to be organised simultaneously in New York and online as part of the United Nations General Assembly every year. Women Science Teachers has been organising sessions in this framework since 2023.

Education and Sustainability in the 21th Century: Role and Future of Technology


The Science Summit is the premier global event that brings together thought leaders, scientists, policy makers and innovators to address the most pressing scientific and technological challenges of our time.
Hatice Kirmaci organized the online session on ' EDUCATION AND SUSTAINABILITY IN THE 21st CENTURY: THE ROLE AND FUTURE OF TECHNOLOGY ' on Tuesday, September 17 (13.00-15.00 (CET)), at this meeting, which included nearly 400 sessions from around the world.
In this session, where WST was one of the partners, Mehmet Mirat Satoglu (General Manager-TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM), Dr. Lawrence Houldsworth (OECD-OECD Global Teaching Insight), Giuseppe Mossuti (European Schoolnet-Scientix), Dr. Christina Makarona (European Schoolnet-Scientix), Yaela Columbic (European Citizen Science), Dr. Fatma Zeynep Özkurt Dördüncü (NiÅŸantaşı University) shared their valuable studies on education, technology, STEAM education, gender equality in the 21st century.
Gender Equality in Science Education

WST and ARSTEAMapp Project (Erasmus+ KA220SCH) was one of the partners of the session 'Gender Equality in Science Education', organized by Hatice Kîrmaci, as part of the Science Summit UNGA78 convened by Declan Kirrane and ISC Intelligence in Science for the 78th General Assembly of the United Nations, The session took place on 13 September at 09.00 at the Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in New York, courtesy of Reyhan Özgür, Consul General.
Participants were Prof. Dr. Yakut Gazi( Duke University-USA). Prof. Dr. Mehlika İnanıcı (Washington University-USA), Ayça Öner(Korkmaz YiÄŸit Anatolian High School-Türkiye), Elena Matroana(Ion Creanga Secondary School-Romania), Arzu Seydim(Etiler Anatolian High School-Türkiye) shared their important work on gender equality.
